My name is Clarissa Yue and I am the founder and owner of The Angelic Kennel.

Through my entire life, there has been dog around me. My parents had a couple show dogs when I was little and when I turned five I got my very first dog. An Azawakh. That dog basically changed my whole life. She taught me the true ways of dog keeping. How to read and understand a dog.

Over the years I have learned a lot, I have a lot of experience with dog shows, being that I have been in the official ring since I was eight years old and as a spectator since before I can even remember.

After having a short, but successful, show career with my Azawakh, I was stuck in the sighthound ways and I immediately knew that was the type of dog that was meant for me. They are independent, graceful, timid and slim.

Today I focus on breeding Whippets that do good in the show ring, but the main focus is still to breed physically and mentally healthy and stable dogs.

Feeding

All of my dogs are on a full raw diet. They receive a mix of high quality meat, such as turkey, beef, pork and salmon. They also receive ground bone supplements and offal parts. It is the perfect balance.

With a full raw diet, none of my dogs turns down their meals, they have good appetites and are in the best shape they could be. I find that the benefits of full raw are many more than what a full kibble diet could ever have. If done correctly, your dog will be in it's best shape on a full raw diet.

The coat is shinier, teeth and ears are much cleaner and the dogs' energy levels are much higher.

Training

For me, the only way to mentally train a dog, any dog, is through positive reinforcement. That is how I have been taught my whole life, that was the only thing that was allowed in Sweden and that is what works. I have never experienced a dog that has not responded well to that method.

I will always recommend that method and at times I have even stepped in to teach others how to properly use the method to their advantage and work as a team with their dog rather than punishment to reach their goal.

I will not sell a dog to someone who is known to use prong or e-collars on their dogs. And if I'd do that, I will get a written, signed consent to never use any of those tools on a dog I have bred. It is a topic I am very passionate about and take very seriously. I am not afraid to refuse a buyer that says they use any tools like prong and e-collar.

Physically, all my dogs are kept it top shape. Not all of them are in the same shape, but you will not find any dog with me that is carrying any excess fat on their bodies. They are part of a training program I designed for them and that I have tested over many years to perfect.

Everyone gets out in the big garden surrounding the house. They get out on pack walks, usually out on a big pasture I've been allowed to use when it's empty of the local farmer's animals. Or fewer dogs gets to come with me to a beach to run free. Or I just bring one or two for a jog.

During colder, worse seasons during which the weather doesn't allow long jogs outdoors, I have the most active dogs with me in our private gym on a treadmill and we run there together. They are always supervised when we are working with higher speeds. The rest of them get to have a more calm time during the colder months of the year.
